On Thursday, May 11th, the City of Goodlettsville Board of Commissioners unanimously adopted the city’s fiscal year 2023-2024 budget on final reading. This is a budget that totals $51,858,946.00 for all funds and is accomplished while keeping the property tax rates the same as they have been for the previous four years.
The city’s new budget increased by 5% from last year’s $49 million operating budget, and of that total, 35% ($18,123,383) is within the city’s general fund.
The budget includes several new capital projects and initiatives, such as an employee compensation plan that will allow the city to be more competitive in recruiting and retaining workers.
“Thanks to the hard work of the Board of Commissioners and all staff members, I feel confident the newly approved budget will allow the city to take an even larger step into the future with the services and facilities we will be able to provide to our residents,” said Tim Ellis, City Manager.
