The City of Goodlettsville expanded the offices of the Criminal Investigation Division of the Police Department in 2020 in the building known as the Police Annex, located at 117 Memorial Drive. The Board of Commissioners, in July of 2020, voted to name and dedicate the Police Annex building in memory of Detective Lynn Hicks.
Detective Lynn Hicks was killed in the line of duty on May 22, 1999. He is the only officer of the Goodlettsville Police Department to have been killed in the line of duty. Present today at the unveiling were Lynn’s mother, Ruth Hicks, and brother, Glen Hicks.
“It is an outstanding tribute to the sacrifice Lynn and his family made by placing his name on the building in which he worked. The Police Department, and I personally, appreciate the City Commission and City Administration for making this possible,” stated Chief of Police Gary Goodwin.
