Heritage Days

Dates Released for 2024 Heritage Day Events

Heritage Day is a much loved annual event and due to the overwhelming response on each of the three dates in 2023, we will again host the event on three different days in 2024. This gives guests an option of the day of the week that best works with their schedule.  Dates for 2024 include:  Tuesday, April 23, Wednesday, April 24, and Thursday, April 25.  At Heritage Day, guests have the opportunity to experience life on the frontier and witness skilled demonstrators and artists. Guests will have a chance to SEE, FEEL, and TOUCH different historical trade skills such as blacksmithing, leatherworking, woodworking, working with fibers and cooking.

Heritage Day allows guests to experience the frontier at their own pace between the hours of 9:00 and 1:00 pm on the day that best works with their schedule.  The cost for all guests age 3 and older is only $8 per day (one day allows enough time to explore and experience the different demonstrations and artists). April is also a great time to be outdoors and enjoy the park, so feel free to bring blankets and picnic on the lawn of the Bowen House or anywhere throughout Moss-Wright Park.

Heritage Day is open to the public as well as school or tour groups.  For any group with 5 or more total guests, reservations are required in advance.  For groups smaller than 5, reservations are encouraged.  Click here for online registration beginning February 1.

Helpful Tips for Registration

  • The leader of the group, the trip organizer or coordinator, the family planner (or any other title you have) will simply need to create an account in CivicRec.  If it says your email is already in use then just reset the password.
  • Select the Heritage Day date and arrival time in which you are interested.
  • Provide the total quantity of tickets needed prior to adding to the cart.
  • This is only a date and time reservation.
  • Payment will be made in person on the date of the event.
  • If you run into errors during your purchase, please reach out to us at visit@goodlettsville.gov and we will assist as needed.

We realize things come up.  If your plans change after making a reservation, please let us know as soon as possible so we may reschedule your group and/or make time available for those who may end up on the waiting list.  Click here to make an adjustment or cancellation to your Heritage Day Reservation.

If for any reason the Heritage Day annual event conflicts with your schedule but you would still like to bring your group to a field trip at Historic Mansker’s Station on another day, please complete the online form and let us schedule a group tour.  The group field trip does not include ALL of the trade skills experienced on Heritage Days but does include a few depending upon the field trip you select.  Either option will be a great experience for your group, and we look forward to sharing it with you.

We look forward to seeing you at one of the Heritage Day events on April 23, 24, or 25!
