The City of Goodlettsville is located in both Sumner County and Metropolitan Nashville-Davidson County. While more than 50% of the land area of Goodlettsville is in Sumner County, approximately 60% of its residents live in the Davidson County portion. Goodlettsville is one of five satellite cities operating within the Metropolitan Nashville area. It is 15 miles North of downtown Nashville, and is served by numerous major transportation systems including Interstate 65 (3 exits: 96, 97 and 98), U.S. Highway 41, U.S. Highway 31-W, and State Route 386.
