Historic Mansker's Station Adds Saturday Hours

The City of Goodlettsville Department of Tourism is excited to announce additional hours for tours at Historic Mansker’s Station and the Visitor’s Center Gift Shop.

Beginning March 2, 2019, Historic Mansker’s Station will be open on the first Saturday of each month for tours 10:00am – 2:00pm.  The Visitor’s Center Gift Shop will be open during these same hours.  These are new additional hours for the historic site.  Tours will continue to be offered Monday – Friday between the hours of 9:00am – 3:00pm.  The Visitor’s Center Gift Shop is open Monday-Friday 8:00am – 4:30pm.

Tourism Director Kimberly Lynn said, “We are often asked about Saturday hours for tours and for shopping in the Visitor’s Center Gift Shop.  Not only do we hear this request from our own community members and those who work Monday-Friday, but also those traveling thru the area on the weekend.  Our team is thrilled to fulfill those requests on the first Saturday of each month.”

Historic Mansker’s Station portrays a significant time period in Tennessee history.  Mansker’s Fort is a replica log station that was built in the Middle Tennessee area in 1779.  The original Bowen House is the oldest standing brick home in Middle Tennessee and was constructed in 1787 by Captain William Bowen and was the birthplace of Tennessee Governor William Bowen Campbell.  Guests who visit Mansker’s Fort and the Bowen House will experience life at Historic Mansker’s Station through a hands-on tour guided by interpreters clothed in 18th Century attire.  Admission fees range $6-$8 and children 5 and under are free.
