The Eclipse Kickoff Event will take place on Sunday, August 20 from 5:00-7:00pm. A limited number of free eclipse glasses will be provided by the City of Goodlettsville and the Goodlettsville Chamber of Commerce to attendees of this event.
Live music will be performed by D.B. Chase and the Moonshine Outlaws on the grounds of the Bowen House.
Bring a picnic or buy dinner from food trucks.
Kids can play in the gaga pit or use their creativity with the Imagination Playground. Facepainting will be done for a fee.
Moss-Wright Park is the location for the Goodlettsville Viewing Party. Police officers, park personnel, and volunteers will be directing traffic and all parking will be on street until it is full at which point, a large grassy area near the soccer fields will be utilized. When that is full, the park will be closed to parking.
Pre-recorded and live music by JazzHat will be located on the grounds of the Bowen House.
Kids and family activities including a gaga pit, Imagination Playground, cornhole, and kickball will be available for those waiting for the eclipse to begin. The Goodlettsville Fire Department will cool off participants with Water Wars. We suggest you bring a change of clothes for after the fun!
Free eclipse glasses will be available to those in attendance until supplies run out. Eclipse t-shirts and ornaments, as well as the glasses are available at all information stations.
Food trucks will be available, or bring a picnic lunch. Grills are not permitted in the park, with the exception of existing charcoal park grills. Shelters are first come, first served, but there is not guaranteed parking near any of the shelters. Alcohol is not permitted in the park. If trashcans are unavailable or full, please pack it up and take it with you. Leave no trace!
